8-BIT ARCADE CHESS SET INVADES KICKSTARTER
NMI Laser has taken to Kickstarter to fund this marriage of 8-bit arcade classic Space Invaders with equally classic board game Chess in what is the greatest chess set I have ever seen and desperately desire.
The chess set features the arcade game’s character in fluorescent colors laser cut and they sit atop a laser cut and etched acrylic game board. It’s absolutely gorgeous and if you pledge $65 you can get the full set of pieces complete with the board which is a steal.
The Kickstarter is looking to complete the funding goal of $5,000 (they already have $1,089 at the time of this post) in the next 27 days. I think that plenty of time to rouse the tabletop gamers and arcade old schoolers to back this beautiful collaboration.
